1. Do I need a dog license for my pet?

Every dog over 4 months of age is required to be licensed with the City. You must provide a current copy of a rabies vaccination and a note from the vet explaining if the dog is spayed/neutered. You can view a list of fees below. Please contact Community Services at (909) 430-2201 for a license application.

2. How do we reserve Park Shelters?

Shelters are free at both Pico Park and Richard Rollins Community Park. Reservations are recommended for exclusive use of the shelter(s). Residents must come into city hall to reserve a shelter ($10 per hour with a 4 hour minimum, $50 refundable shelter deposit and a $10 non-refundable registration fee—higher fees apply for non-Grand Terrace residents)

4. Where is the Sheriff Station?

The City of Grand Terrace contracts with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Their offices are located at:

5. When and where are the Free Dump Days?

Free Dump Days are the second Saturday of April and October from 8 am to noon. The location is at the corner of Mt. Vernon and Canal on the Edison easement lot. Residents are requested to enter from Canal Street proceeding north.

6. Do I need a Business License to do business in the City?

Yes, if you sell a product or provide a service in the city, either at home, in a commercial structure, or doing business in Grand Terrace but not located in Grand Terrace, you are required to get a business license.

7. Are there any other requirements for a Home-based business?

A one time Home Occupation Permit is required along with an annual Business License. For more information, please contact (909) 430-2256.

8. Are there any other requirements for businesses located in Grand Terrace?

A one time Certificate of Occupancy/Land Use Application must be obtained along with an annual Business License to conduct business in the city. For more information, please contact (909) 430-2256.

9. Are there any other requirements for businesses located outside of Grand Terrace?

If you are business that is not located within Grand Terrace, but does business in the city, such as a contractor, landscape maintenance, etc., you are required to have a business license.

10. Does the city accept utility payments (gas, water, cable, trash, electric)?

No, unfortunately all of these services are contracted out.

11. Do I need a permit for a yard sale?

Yes, there is a $5 charge for a permit that is good for up to three consecutive days. You are allowed up to 2 yard sales per year per address.

Residents can download the form below and send in a check to city hall with the dates of the sale. Please post a copy of the downloaded form with your check number as proof on the day(s) of the sale.

12. A tree has fallen, it broke sprinklers, and there's debris in the right-of-way. Who do I call?

Call Sheriff's Dispatch, (909) 824-0680, for any such non-emergencies. City Staff will be paged.

13. What are City Hall hours?

Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am - 6:00 pm. Please note that City Hall is closed every Friday.
